Yoga Philosophy – Ayurveda Lifestyle: Why Living a Normal Life Could Be Damaging Your Health

Your families, friends and society put us under tremendous pressure to do or achieve certain things by a particular age.

As a young teenager, you are expected to go to a university and get a good grade whilst trying to tick off the list of things that you should be doing as a university student.

You are then expected to get a ‘good’ job after university, compete with your colleagues for a promotion for more money so that you can save up money for the deposit to buy a house before 30.

And as a woman, you are expected to get married at a certain age, and have children by a certain age.

And either you feel like you made it and feel ‘normal’, because you achieved all of these things…

Or you feel pressured to achieve these things by a particular age, otherwise you are not ‘normal’ and you are going to be left ‘behind’.

Do you want to know my secret?

At the age of 37, I haven’t achieved any of those!

I’ve never been to a university. I don’t own a house.

I’m not married and I don’t have any children.

And I’m not earning a 6 figure salary either yet 🙂

Yet, I’m the happiest and healthiest, mentally and physically I’ve ever been!

During my 20s, I was always looking for external things to make me happy and feel worthy. Following what others are doing. At the cost of my true happiness and health.

You might feel like following what others are doing is the safest option.

Whether applying for a job that pays more because you are meant to earn a certain amount of money at your age, and start saving up.

Or go on a diet that everyone is doing, or buying expensive superfoods or supplements that are meant to be healthy and give you radiant skin.

Or even practicing a particular Yoga style that everyone else is practicing…

If everyone else is doing it, it must be the correct way right?

But if you ask most people who are just following everyone else’s path, that if they feel truly happy and healthy from within, they would probably answer ‘no’.

Today, many people are experiencing low levels of health and happiness.

They are constantly battling against their true self and the society norm.

But you can choose to walk a different path.

If you truly want a healthy body and mind, to be happy from within, and live your own path, it’s time to face the fear of being different and find the courage to embrace who you truly are and live the way you want to live.

The practice of Yoga and Ayurveda help you overcome fear and embrace change, instead of resisting it.

When you are free of resistance, when you have a healthy mind, that’s when your physical body will start to heal, and discover your true health.

It’s time to walk your true path.
