For many years, I was just practicing physical Yoga asana. My Yoga teachers at the time used to tell me that all I needed to do is to practice Yoga and everything will be ok.

So I went to as many Yoga classes as possible and if I missed any classes I would beat myself up for it. I started seeing some changes but I was still tired all the time and unhappy with my life.

Until I started incorporating the Eat Live Yoga Approach in my own life.

The Eat Live Yoga Approach was born because I truly believe that when you are eating well, living well and practicing Yoga regularly, you can become fully connected to your ‘true nature’ and you can start to live your Dharma – your life purpose.

To do this you need the three pillars: Eat, Live and Yoga, working together to achieve the full benefits of Ayurveda and allowing you to become an aligned & empowered self-healer.

How to Become an Aligned & Empowered Self-Healer

So how can we all become an aligned & empowered self-healer?

One of my biggest learnings in my Yoga journey is one of the quotes from my Yoga teacher Vishva-ji.

“Yoga starts from your kitchen”

It is difficult to fully benefit from Yoga on its own, when your mind and body are not nourished and balanced. Through eating the food for your Dosha and living a lifestyle that is unique to your Dosha, that is when you will feel the full benefits of Yoga.

When you are eating well (Pillar 1 – Eat) and making better food, lifestyle and purchasing decisions based on Ayurvedic and sustainable principles (Pillar 2 – Live), you will start to feel healthier, more aligned with your values and able to create a better world for yourself, others and future generations.

However you may still lack energy, feel lost and lack direction in your life. When you start to incorporate regular practice of Yoga asana, Pranayama, meditation and spiritual practice (Pillar 3 – Yoga) you will start to feel the full benefits.

You will begin to discover your ‘true nature’, feel balanced, energized and purposeful throughout the day and become an aligned & empowered self-healer!

I know from my experience working with many students and listening to my community, most people are usually missing one of the pillars in their lives.

If you tend to lack energy, focus, consistency and feel unbalanced and unfulfilled in your life, the chances are you are not incorporating one or two of these pillars into your daily life.

When you integrate all the pillars into your daily routine according to your unique Dosha, that’s when you feel energized, fully connected with your true nature and are able to start to discover your Dharma – your life purpose.
