5 Reasons to Fall In Love with Home Yoga This Winter

Have you tried yoga and thought I’m not flexible enough, or felt that you just weren’t any good at it?

This is how a lot of people feel when they first start out on their Yoga journey.

However there are millions of people who practice yoga on a regular basis and they must have started their journey somewhere. Probably feeling that they weren’t very flexible on any good.

But what happened is they stuck at it. They saw the joy it brought others or felt how good you feel after a session, even if they couldn’t quite do all the moves everyone else could!

So if you have tried yoga before and it didn’t quite click or you are brand new – here are my top 5 reasons to fall in love with Yoga this winter…all in the comfort of your own home!

Here are the 5 reasons to fall in love with Home Yoga this winter!

1. All you need is a Yoga mat! (a laptop/iPad and WiFi…)

You don’t need to spend your hard earned money on any fancy home gym equipment that you end up using once (or twice if you are lucky!) or fill your already cluttered house with more obstacles. All you need is a Yoga mat (choose eco-friendly, ethical Yoga mat!) and it doesn’t take up a lot of space to store!

2. You don’t need much space

All you need is just enough space to lay your Yoga mat down and a small space to place your laptop/iPad in front of the mat 🙂 Yoga is a peaceful, silent practice (no jumping or screaming unless you want to!) so you don’t need to worry about disturbing your neighbours or your house mates either.

3. Yoga can have a positive impact on your body

Even practicing Yoga once a week will have a positive impact on your physical health!

These are some of the physical health benefits …

  • Develops tone & strength in muscles
  • Increases flexibility
  • Improves posture
  • Improves circulation
  • Increases energy

4. can also positively impact your mental health

I always like to encourage people to start Yoga not just for the physical benefits but for their overall health & wellbeing.

Breath is a centre practicing Yoga and by breathing consciously and connecting with your breath, it allows us to stay in the present moment.

These are some of the mental health benefits …

  • Decreased stress and anxiety
  • Calms and centres the nervous system
  • Improves attention and concentration
  • Increases body awareness
  • Promotes inner-peace
  • Promotes self-awareness

I have another blog where I shared the science-backed benefits of how Yoga can help maintain and improve your mental wellbeing.

5. The best self-care gift you can give yourself!

We are all living through strange times in our lives and with the holiday season coming up along with all the associated stress that it can bring, taking an hour out (or even 20 minutes) just for yourself without worrying about anyone or work (or any other stressor in your life!) is the best self-care you can give to yourself!

Want to get started?

Try my 30 minute morning Yoga class to start the day energized or 30 minute evening class to let go and release the day’s tension!
